The LogIT Explorer2 is a state of the art remote datalogger designed specifically for Key Stage 2 & 3 Science and Maths. It is the successor to the hugely popular LogIT Explorer of which over 20,000 units were purchased. As with all LogIT dataloggers, the sensors do not change and will continue to be compatible with newer models - meaning the original Explorer sensors will work with the new LogIT Explorer2.
Pupils can observe, measure and log temperature, sound, light and pulse straight out of the box without the need to connect to a computer or tablet - fulfilling the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum. With a range of external sensors available including pH, temperature, voltage and motion, the Explorer2 exceeds Primary level and prepares pupils for Key Stage 3 and beyond. To get even more from the Explorer2, see the related products below for a variety of additional sensors and accessories. The Explorer2 is also available as part of a Five Pack and Ten Pack, where value and functionality have been optimised to suit all classroom requirements.
The Explorer2 requires just 2 x AA alkaline batteries and provides power to any connected sensor - no need to wait for recharging before each lesson! The low power consumption coupled with the backlit LCD screen makes it ideal for remote logging in a dark classroom and outside in bright sunlight e.g. on the sports field with the pulse sensor or in a greenhouse measuring light, temperature and pH. Although extremely robust, a lanyard reduces the chance of pupils dropping the unit - the case is designed for younger hands and features an intuitive menu operated by just 3 buttons.
Start logging instantly with a single press of a button and record thousands of samples in just seconds! Store numerous readings using Snapshot mode and time events with the built-in Stopwatch. Additionally, the Timing mode allows students to measure time with the light sensor and read results as time or speed. The integrated Maths Quiz also provides interaction that pupils are so familiar with whilst learning at the same time. The data can be stored and downloaded easily to a PC or laptop via USB and via Bluetooth for an iPad. The SensorLab software allows for live or previously logged data to be projected onto a white board or viewed on individual tablets/PC's.
